As you are probably aware, The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) became enforceable on May 25, 2018.
“Everyone has the right to
- the protection of personal data concerning him or her
- access to data which has been collected concerning him or her, and the right to have it rectified” (source)
I am not sure how that is supposed to affect a site like mine, where I simply post images of my wood paintings and blog posts about them. Let me just say this:
If you choose to visit the site and to leave a comment, I am happy to answer you. Any name and e-mail address you use to leave a comment are only used to interact with the thoughts expressed by you, and to answer any questions you may have asked. If you initiate any conversation, I am quite happy to answer you. I do not personally collect any private information from you beyond what WordPress automatically uses in order to make the site work (for instance, the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string are used to help spam detection; temporary cookies are used). I will never sell or transfer your e-mail address or name to any third party or use it to send you any unsolicited mail.
If you receive any communication from this site, it is because you have used the contact page, leaving me a message, or because you have left a comment on one of the pages and you may be notified when an answer to your comment was posted, or because you have chosen to subscribe to my blog posts. I assure you that you are free to unsubscribe at any time or to contact me, asking me to delete a comment, if you no longer want it to appear on the site.
You may have noticed – this site is certainly not perfect. 🙂 There are technical improvements that are necessary. There are many blog posts which would enrich the site and which so far exist only in my head, because I have not had time to put all my thoughts in words and publish them. But, with all of its imperfections, this is meant to be a warm, welcoming place! I hope you will enjoy coming back to visit, to look at my paintings, to share your thoughts… Feel free to interact. I am grateful for every visit, I love hearing from you, and I assure you that you will be treated with respect.
