“In a word, there are many thorns, but the roses are there too.” (Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky)
Acrylic painting on wood, one of a kind – 11.4 x 7.8 inches (29 x 20 cm).
At times, life puts you in uncomfortable places, filled with sharp, painful things, which poke you from all sides. Thorns aplenty. Do not give in to discouragement, keep looking carefully: somewhere, among all those tangled up branches, there are some roses too. It may seem like there are too few of those, and too little beauty compared to all the pain. But this is the creed that I proclaim:
For now, good and evil, light and darkness, beauty and hideousness are mixed up. God and the devil are both active in this world. But ultimately God is stronger than the devil, light more powerful than darkness, good more worthy and attractive than evil, beauty more lasting than ugliness. Love will never end, whatever else does. So go forward boldly… and look for some roses.
